Commission Price Guide

Description

***Please keep in mind this is only the price guide. To check my commission status please check my journal***

How do I commission you?
First have a clear idea of what you want to request, or at least have a list of ideas for me to pick from
If you approach with only the vaguest of concepts, then I will not take responsibility for not meeting your exact standards (I'm not a mind reader)
Second, grab an OPEN commission spot on the commission status
And once you have the spot confirmed, send me all the relevant information of what you want me to draw (physical description, pose, personality, short background story, etc) and the type of commission you're looking for

How is a commission processed?
The first step is the discussion of the details, agreement of the price and settling of the payment style (usually you pay the 1st half before I start, but it may vary) . Once the negotiations are settled I'll start on the commission
Before entering the next stage of production (lines, colors, shading, etc) I'll send a preview for approval. Keep in mind that once approved I will not make any major changes to previous stages, like completely changing the pose or recolor the entire background. And also there's a limit of how many changes you can request before I'm forced to move to the next stage without being payed for the extra effort (there's no set value as it varies widely with the complexity of the commission)
Finally when the commission is completed you'll be requested to send the rest of the payment. Only when its arrival is confirmed the final product will be sent to your email

Can I take a slot and pick what I want to draw later? Or just pick multiple slots at once?
I may give 1 or 2 days for you to decide, but any more than that is unfair to everyone else. Please don't ask for a commission unless you have an idea of what you want
As for multiple slots, unless there's still a slot open by the time I finish your previous commission, no, you may not. Saving a slot for someone else is allowed though, if that person contacts me in the next couple of days

How do I contact you?
That information will be posted along with the information status on my main page

I saw you asking for far cheaper prices before. Why are your commissions so expensive now?
You probably saw one of my special promotions where you trade control over the final product for a cheaper price. I still do those for the occasional challenge, so you might like to keep an eye open for those. I always announce them
But as for why I apply these prices, I'm not a student anymore, trying to gather some extra change. Nor am I working for a 3rd party, using commissions as a secondary source of income. Food, rent, internet and other commodities don't pay for themselves =(

What type of stuff are you good at drawing?
I'm particularly good at drawing anything related to animals and mythical creatures, especially when provided with enough reference material
But try not to take this as a limitation of choice. I like a good challenge, reason why I didn't put this information up on the guide

What tools do you use?
Usually I work directly in either OpenCanvas or Photoshop, but I may also use Flash and other tools, depending on what is asked

Do you do Art Trades, Requests, Freebies, etc?
Unless stated otherwise, or the request comes from me first, no I do not

How come you drew something free for [person]? I want one too!!!
I may occasionally draw something as a gift, or decide to draw a bit of fanart, but that's up to my whims entirely. I don't owe anyone anything, unless they're paying for consuming my time

Why did someone who requested after me got their commission done first?
When I hit an art block, rather than waiting indefinitely for the inspiration to return and waste everyone's time in the process, I jump to the next work in line. And more often than not when I do that the surge of inspiration I get is enough to clear the previous stump
So, in short, getting a commission spot first does not guarantee that's the order in which things will be drawn. Only that I'm dedicating my time to everyone in the most efficient way possible

Why are you posting non-commission work rather than completing my commission?
I occasionally need a break to clear my head, for the same reasons stated in the previous question. Or they're the result of other private projects (games and such) that run parallel to the commissions
Either way no, I'm not ignoring your commission on purpose. If a problem does occur I will let you know immediately

Why won't you draw Adult stuff?
Simply because that's not my cup of tea, sorry. You're better off commissioning another artist than insisting on that topic. It's not like DA lacks loads of amazing, talented people willing to draw that type of stuff ;)

Why won't you ship badges?
I live in Portugal. Unless you truly insist I print the badge, or draw it with traditional media, and you are willing to pay for the shipping costs, I think it's easier for both of us if it's done on your end. Part of the badge prices guarantees the size and quality takes printing issues into account

What do you mean by you retain all copyrights of your work? The characters aren't yours!!!
In any commission you're providing an idea to the artist. That indeed isn't mine. But the execution of the work itself, all the hours, lines and colors are!
So when I say I retain ownership of my own work, it means I do not allow others to claim THEY did that work. Paying for the execution of an idea and claim the final product as your own sweat and blood are 2 completely different things
Also another right not included at those prices is the permission to make and sell copies of my work for your own profit. The same way I'm not allowed to make any further profit of that commission, outside of using it for portfolio purposes

So what rights do I have over the commission?
You're allowed to post it on your gallery, webpage, etc, as long as you credit me for the work and provide a link back to me. Other private uses of the image, like using as your desktop image, is also allowed

If you have any other questions or suggestions please let me know =)

is the price in DA money or in dollars?
